Flora’s Healthy Pet Club – our fair usage policy

We built the plan so the cost of an appointment is never the reason a pet goes unseen, and we would far rather you brought your pet in than sat at home worrying about them.

There are a few sensible things we ask in return, so we can look after every pet on the plan properly.

How often we see your pet

Coming to the practice can be stressful for pets, so when yours is unwell we aim to see them as little as possible and as often as necessary.

A pet with a sudden, serious or long term condition will usually benefit from being seen early and reviewed regularly. It lets us check the treatment is working and pick up anything new. For milder problems, most pets do better with rest and a bit of time to recover.

Your vet will always tell you when they would like to see your pet again. If we do not think another appointment will help, we will say so and explain why. We may also recommend a check in with one of our nurses, a future phone call update or correspondence over email or WhatsApp as the best way to oversee your pet’s case.

If it is our clinical judgement that there is nothing further we need to do in a particular case, we will refer back to this fair usage policy out of fairness to your pet and our other clients.

Being fair to every pet on the plan

Our team is small and our appointments are in demand. Fair usage applies to our time as much as anything else, so where a case has already been worked up and there is nothing further we can usefully do, we will need to prioritise the pets still waiting to be seen.

If you are not sure
